Who we are
CODI is a community based organization based in kawangware, western part of Nairobi city. This initiative was started in February 2010 by community organizers who were training in the area during community organization training course under cot programme as the training institute.
Due to marginalization of the community in development initiatives, kacodi has made a number of collective communal efforts which have been instrumented in uplifting the social-economic wellbeing, leadership and governance in the community. Through integration to the community there was high realization of status of poverty within the people living in the area. This provoked the desire amongst the community organizers to work towards poverty eradication in the area. codi has membership comprising of diverse ethnic, gender and professional background. The initiative targets the youth, women, children and vulnerable groups. It also stands as a linkage bridge to the community of kawangware.
